Newest Confirmed Bird flu in Riau Province

Jakarta, September 6, 2007 - Ministry of Health – A 33-year old man known as “GS”, from Hang Kampar District in Riau Province, Sumatra is infected with the H5N1 influenza virus, according to laboratory tests conducted in Jakarta. Overall, Indonesia has now recorded 106 confirmed human H5N1 cases and 84 fatalities.
