WHO warns against bird flu complacency

PESHAWAR: The World Health Organisation (WHO) on Friday warned against complacency regarding bird flu, saying that more precautionary measures needed to be enforced because the disease still posed a potential threat to humans.

Hanoi reports bird flu outbreak

Some 3,700 birds were culled at a poultry farm in Soc Son District after a bird flu outbreak infected nearly two thirds of the farm’s livestock, the Hanoi Animal Health Department reported Thursday.

The northern province of Tuyen Quang also reported an outbreak in Son Duong District

Persahabatan Paramedic Team Cured 2 AI Cases

Jakarta, March 1, 2008 - Ministry of Health - The doctor team in Persahabatan Hospital had successfully treated and cured Sn and her daughter, DN, from avian influenza (AI) infection. They were hospitalized for about one month. They were dischaged from the hospital on February 28, 2008 after the laboratory research showed negative H5N1 result for the last 3 days.
