3 New Confirmed Cases of Human Avian Influenza In Indonesia

Jakarta, January 28, 2008 - Bird Flu Information Center -
Indonesia has recorded three new cases of human avian influenza. RF, MIY and Nas are confirmed to be infected by H5N1 virus based on the test results from the Health Research and Development Center of the Ministry of Health and Eijkman Institute dated January 27 2008.

NEW AVIAN INFLUENZA HUMAN CASE IN INDONESIA

Jakarta, January 21, 2008 - Bird Flu Information Center - An 8-year-old boy, identified only as St, a resident of Tangerang Municipality, Banten Province, has tested positive of H5N1. The boy showed his first symptoms on 7 January 2008 and then he was admitted to Cengkareng Hospital on 16 January 2008. Afterwards, he was transferred to the Infectious Disease Hospital Sulianti Saroso (RSPI-SS) on17 January 2008, showing symptoms of fever, cough, leucopenia, thrombocytopenia, pneumonia.
