ES, Newest Bird Flu Fatality In Tangerang

Jakarta, November 5, 2007 - Bird Flu Information center -
A laboratory test results from the Ministry of Health's Research and Development Center dated November 1, 2007 confirmed that ES (F, 30) from Tangerang Municipality, Banten Province is positively infected by the H5N1 virus. Another laboratory test from Jakarta-based Eijkman Institute is also required to confirm the test results. In almost all cases, the Eijkman's test results match the Litbangkes laboratory's test results.

Bird flu forces Bangladesh to cull chickens

DHAKA (Reuters) - Bangladesh culled some 6,000 chickens after bird flu infected three more farms in the northern part of the country, officials said on Friday.

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Minister of Industry and Primary Resources expressed the Sultanate's support for the second phase of the Regional Framework for the control and eradication of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in Asean with the endorsement of the Asean Regional Strategy for the Progressive Control and Eradication of HPAI for 2008-2010.
