WHO hopes to resolve row on bird flu virus sharing

Geneva (ANTARA News) - Health officials this week reopen the thorny issue of bird flu virus sharing, which the World Health Organisation (WHO) says is vital for tracking the deadly H5N1 virus and developing vaccines against a potential pandemic.

Avian Influenza update: H5N1 confirmed at second premises

Laboratory test results have today confirmed H5N1 Avian Influenza in turkeys at one of the Dangerous Contact premises. These premises were confirmed as a Dangerous Contact, and placed under restriction, on 14th November.

DEFRA vets have completed the precautionary cull on four units managed by Redgrave Poultry, the same company that manages the unit at the centre of the current H5N1 avian flu outbreak near Diss.
