Tangerang resident identified as bird flu sufferer

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - A 30-year-old resident of Tangerang, a suburb west of Jakarta, has been positively infected with the bird flu virus and is currently being treated in a hopital in east Jakarta, the Health Ministry reported on Tuesday.

Jan 22, 2008 (CIDRAP News) – Countries affected by H5N1 avian influenza have sent material containing 734 H5N1 virus isolates to the World Health Organization (WHO) over the past 5 years, and from now on the public will be able to track particular isolates that have been submitted and what is being done with them, according to the WHO.
